Look Who's Walking...

Ziv started walking at the end of October 2008 when he was 16 months old. All of a sudden Ziv got up on his own in the middle of the room at his creche one morning and took a couple of steps before falling down. See the video below, taken later that week.

This month was also the dawn of the "no" period, or as Ziv says in a French accent "non" or when he's being cheeky "nuh" or "nuh nuh nuh". Ziv has a tendency to say no to everything, even if it's contradictory to what he wants. Instead of "ba" for "bath", Ziv now says "batya" (assumedly from the Hebrew word for bath "ambatya"). Other words in Ziv's bilingual vocabulary include: "bamba", "chios" (a.k.a "cheerios"), "aba", "mama", "tata" (a.k.a "safta"), "bo" (a.k.a "boss"), "bu" (a.k.a "book"), "pata" (a.k.a "pasta"), "na" (a word for food, especially milk), "chu" (a.k.a "shoe"), "otto" (car in Hebrew) "da" (a.k.a "dummy") and "ter" or "mai" (i.e. "water" or "mayim"). And very importantly "toda"! Ziv loves immitating chickens and roosters and calls out "kookoo" whenever the relevant opportunity arises.

Ziv is now well-adjusted to his new "gan" (creche) and is eating and sleeping well. He starts his day at 6 to 6.30 am and eats porridge (yummy). He has only one bottle now before his evening bath and goes to sleep at about 8 pm. Ziv has 12 teeth for now - 6 upper and 6 lower, with 2 on the way (top fangs - ouch).
